Two cars were damaged after catching fire on Waltham Road in the early hours of Sunday morning, Overton Radio understands.

The historic bells of St Mary’s Church, Overton, are set to fall silent this November as they come down for essential repairs – the first time they’ve been removed since 1968.

Rob Francis recently climbed up into the bell tower at St. Mary’s Church – a very narrow spiral staircase with steps so small they felt like they’d been designed for pixies. It was claustrophobic, creaky, and absolutely fascinating.

Observant visitors to St Mary’s Church may have noticed that several of the church windows are currently boarded up. This is due to ongoing restoration work, with the windows having been carefully removed for repair and refurbishment.
