Ken and Jane MacKenzie of the Overton Biodiversity Society are hosting the event with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust next month. The event starts with a service at St Mary's Church at 10.30am and continues from 12:00pm at the Community Orchard on London Road. Overton's business association is reminding people that businesses in the village are open as usual during the B3400 roadworks. Harveys Field Drainage Work

From 17th July for approximately 3 weeks the B3400 will be closed adjacent to Harveys Field in Overton for drainage works to be carried out. Working times will be Mondays to Fridays between 0900 and 1500 during the first week (to allow Testbourne School buses full access) and between 0900 and 1600 in subsequent weeks. During these periods buses will be unable to serve any stops between London Road, Whitchurch and Overton Community Centre in either direction. The owners of The Red Lion say they are really grateful to their “lovely customers” who have helped raised money to get a mobility scooter for cancer sufferer Richard McNeil. DF Mobility LTD in Andover were kind enough to deliver a nippy scooter this afternoon with thanks to ‘firm negotiations’ by customer Sean Gallagher. Former HGV driver Richard was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer, as a result he was forced to give-up driving.
