St. Michael’s Hospice is inviting people from across North Hampshire to come together this summer to celebrate and remember the lives of loved ones at its annual Summer Memories event.
The special remembrance gathering will take place on Sunday 12 July 2026 from 11am to 1.30pm at Worting House in Church Lane, Worting, near Basingstoke. A remembrance service will begin at 12.30pm.
Open to everyone, whether or not their loved one received care from St. Michael’s Hospice, the event offers a chance for families and friends to reflect, share memories, and honour those they have lost in a supportive community setting.
This year’s symbol is the Feather, chosen to represent connection, remembrance, and the lasting bonds people hold with loved ones who are no longer with them.
Ahead of the event, a striking display of 400 metal feathers is being exhibited at The Vyne National Trust property until Thursday 9 July.
Supporters can dedicate a limited-edition metal Feather keepsake in memory of someone special with a donation of £30 or more. Each feather will be displayed in the Summer Memories Meadow during the event. For an additional £5, supporters can also add a personalised engraved name tag.
Those unable to attend can collect their feather from the Hospice after the event or have it posted for an additional £5.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy local stalls, refreshments, a choir performance, and community entertainment throughout the day. Entry is free.
Funds raised through Summer Memories will help St. Michael’s Hospice continue providing specialist care and support to patients and families across North Hampshire. As only part of the Hospice’s funding comes from the NHS, community fundraising events remain essential in helping to keep services free for those who need them.
