Cricket fans are set for an exciting afternoon of local action today as all three Overton Cricket Club senior sides take to the field in Hampshire league competition.
The club’s 1st XI will be looking to continue their impressive recent form when they host Kingsclere CC 1st XI at The Recreation Centre. Overton head into the match with an unbeaten run in their last five fixtures, recording three wins and a walkover victory, while Kingsclere have struggled for consistency, winning just one of their last four completed matches.
Meanwhile, Overton’s 2nd XI face a challenging away trip to Hurstbourne Priors Cricket Club. The hosts come into the contest in strong form, having won three of their last four matches. Overton’s second team will be aiming to bounce back after a mixed run of results that has seen them record one win from their last four outings.
The club’s 3rd XI travel to Long Sutton Playing Fields to take on Odiham & Greywell CC 4th XI. Both teams will be eager to secure valuable points, with Odiham & Greywell searching for their first positive result after a difficult run of four consecutive defeats. Overton’s third team have also experienced mixed fortunes this season but will take confidence from a recent victory.
All three matches are scheduled to begin at 1pm.
