The Red Lion is set to bring a touch of Scotland to the village later this month as its popular Burns Night Supper returns on Saturday 24 January.
The evening celebrates the life and legacy of Robert Burns and promises a full dose of Scottish tradition, from ceremonial haggis to poetry, music and a few well-earned laughs – with the option of a wee dram or two along the way.
A highlight of the night will be the Ode to the Haggis, delivered by the ever-energetic Mike Poole. Guests can also look forward to the traditional Toast to the Lassies, followed by the all-important reply, alongside special musical performances to round off the celebrations.
The supper features a three-course meal, or four courses if you include the whisky course, priced at £30 per person. Demand is already strong, with 30 per cent of places sold in the first two days, so early booking is advised.
For anyone who has never experienced Burns Night, this promises a warm, lively and very Scottish evening – without needing a passport.
To book a place, call 01256 212053 or drop into The Red Lion to speak to Victoria or David.
