The Overton Mummers were out in force on Boxing Day, bringing their long-standing festive tradition back to the village and raising more than £670 for St Michael’s Hospice.
The group began the day with a performance at the Community Centre before moving on to the Old House at Home. Their final stop was the Greyhound, where the day ended in fine style with a warm welcome from locals.
Residents and visitors turned out to enjoy the familiar mix of humour, history and chaos that comes with a Mummers’ play. The performances drew good crowds at each venue, with generous donations collected throughout the day.
All the money raised will go to St Michael’s Hospice, which provides specialist care and support for patients and families across the area.
Organisers thanked everyone who came along, donated, or helped keep the tradition alive, saying the support shown on Boxing Day once again proved how much the village values its community events.
