Overton Radio is proud to be hosting the Overton Scarecrow Festival this summer, as organisers prepare for what promises to be one of the biggest village celebrations yet.
The much-loved community event will return to the Overton Recreation Centre on Bridge Street across Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July 2026, with a packed weekend of family entertainment, live music and activities for all ages.
As official hosts of the festival, Overton Radio will be at the heart of the weekend, bringing live entertainment, music and coverage across the event as thousands of visitors are expected to descend on the village.
The celebrations begin on Friday 17th July with the ever-popular Overton Fancy Dress Wheelbarrow Race, starting at 7pm at the recreation centre. The evening will continue with a disco and bar, giving festivalgoers an early chance to get into the party spirit.
The main Scarecrow Festival and Family Fun Weekend will then run from 12 noon until 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday, with organisers promising a record number of stalls and attractions.
Visitors can expect rides, games and inflatables for children, tractor and trailer rides around the village, live entertainment throughout the weekend, fun dog and agility shows, vehicle displays, classic cars, a vintage bus, vintage tractors, and displays from the fire and police services.
A wide range of food and refreshments will also be available, along with a dedicated seating area for visitors to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
Advance daytime tickets will cost £1.50, rising to £2 on the gate, while children aged 16 and under will be admitted free of charge.
Saturday night will also see the return of Scarecrow Rocks, with live music from 7pm until late. The evening event will feature performances from local acts, alongside food and a licensed bar.
Tickets for Scarecrow Rocks will cost £6 in advance or £7 on the night, with ticket details set to be announced soon.
The Overton Scarecrow Festival has become one of the village’s standout events, and with Overton Radio hosting proceedings, 2026 is shaping up to be bigger, louder and busier than ever.
