Overton Music Festival: Friday Night Preview

The countdown is now well underway to this year’s Overton Music Festival, which takes place from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th June.

Over the coming days we’ll be taking a closer look at what visitors can expect across the festival weekend, beginning with Friday evening at the Community Centre. With free entry and a programme packed with local performers, community groups, food and entertainment, it promises to be a fantastic way to kick off one of Overton’s most popular annual events.

The music begins at 6:30pm with Herbarium, before the stage is handed over to the Overton Guides, Brownies and Rainbows at 7pm. The evening continues with performances from John Bird at 7:35pm, Mya at 8:10pm and Mick Browne at 8:45pm, before The Rag & Moan Men bring the opening night to a close with a headline performance from 9:25pm until 10pm. Throughout the evening, visitors will be guided through the programme by Overton Radio’s Rob Francis, who will be introducing the performers and helping keep the event running smoothly between acts.

As well as the entertainment on stage, there will be plenty to enjoy away from the music. Say Cheese will be serving up their popular filthy fries, with a choice of grilled meaty and vegetarian options alongside their much-loved cheesy chips. Those looking for something sweet can visit Waffle Sticks & Milkshakes, where a range of desserts and refreshing milkshakes will be available throughout the evening.

Festival-goers will also have the chance to browse the work of local artist Helen Skilton, whose stall will feature landscape artwork, upcycled jewellery and a selection of face painting, henna and glitter tattoo options. Amy will also be bringing colour and sparkle to the event, offering face paints, henna and glitter tattoos that are always popular with younger visitors and families alike.

Whether you’re planning to stay for the whole evening or simply drop in for part of the programme, there will be plenty to see, hear and enjoy as Overton Music Festival gets underway for another year.
