New “Haven” wellbeing space to open its doors for first look in Overton

A new calm space focused on learning, mentoring and mental wellbeing is preparing to open its doors in Overton, with a community open house planned for next month.

The project, called The Haven, is described as a supportive environment designed to offer a quiet and welcoming setting for people of all ages. Organisers say the aim is to create a space where people can learn, connect, and find support in a relaxed setting.

Residents are invited to attend an open house event on Thursday 11 June, running from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Shire House, Overton, RG25 3AG.

The session will give the public a first look at the project as it begins to take shape. Visitors will be offered tea and biscuits, along with the chance to ask questions and learn more about what The Haven hopes to offer the community.

Organisers have described the early stage of the project in honest terms, saying it “may not be finished” and “may not be beautiful,” but adding that it “could be something amazing.”

Despite its early development stage, the message behind The Haven is clear: to build a calm, supportive space for wellbeing and learning, shaped with input from the local community.
