With work at Lordsfield Swimming Club continuing into autumn, the management team are turning their attention to planning for next year’s reopening and thinking in particular about recruiting volunteers.

The pool is run entirely by members of the village community who offer their time to support them. The more volunteers we have, the easier it becomes for the club to offer longer hours and greater variety of sessions. There are so many good reasons to get involved.

Did you know that volunteering can improve physical and mental health, connect you with your local community, teach you new skills and even improve your career prospects? It’s also great fun and an incredible way to meet new people and learn more about the village. The club will be training / re-training our Pool Rescuers and First Aiders in the spring and they would love for you to join them. Both courses are just one day and look great on a CV!

The club often hear that people would love to get involved but they aren’t strong swimmers or can’t commit to a regular schedule. No problem! There are so many ways to get involved – why not give it a go? If you have anything from half an hour to spare then the club needs you!
