Members of Town Meadow Golf Club gathered yesterday for the club’s June Competition, one of the newer events on the golfing calendar, played in honour of club legend Dermot Newe.
The competition featured a drawn pairs “4 Ball Better Ball” format, with players teaming up to produce the best net score possible. After an enjoyable and competitive day on the course, Simon Edwards and Neil Clarke emerged as worthy winners with an impressive net score of 44.
There was success elsewhere on the day too. Mike England claimed the Nearest the Pin prize, while Graham Bond took the honours for Nearest the Pin in Two. The raffle prize was won by Dave Bragg.
One of the biggest positives for the club was the participation of three members competing in a members’ competition for the very first time. The club hopes to build on this encouraging turnout and continue to see more members getting involved in future events.
Congratulations to all the winners and everyone who took part in another successful day of golf at Town Meadow..
