This weekend’s sport fixtures

Five new players have joined Overton United in the week as the Macy era continues, the team welcome Max Elward, La’Meur Gay, Josh Gardner, Wat Jones and Jay Jay Tucker.

As always, each of our local teams will appreciate your support by attending games.  The Overton United first team return to league action as they host neighbours TwentyTen FC at Bridge Street tomorrow (Saturday) with a 3pm kick-off.

On Sunday, the Overton Sunday Reserves are the only away team this weekend as they travel to Hampshire Royals in the BDFL Sunday Division 2 for a 10:30am kick-off, while the Overton Vets continue their league campaign as they host Fleet Spurs, also with a 10:30am kick-off.

Our local running club, The Overton Harriers, which will be celebrating their 50th anniversary next year are in action over the whole weekend. 

Keith (‘Lollipop Man’) Vallis told Overton Radio, “On Saturday afternoon, it’s the first of the Hampshire League Cross-country races of the season. The fixture will be held at Wellesley Woods on the edge of Aldershot.

“On Sunday fifteen Harriers are due to line-up at the New Forest 10 Mile Race. The scenic race is based at New Park, Brockenhurst and will be the third out of 13 Hampshire Road Race League series.”

Overton Rugby have a weekend off. They are back in action next Saturday with a home game against Eastleigh II.
