The Red Lion’s dog show is back again from 2pm this afternoon.
“Paws and Pints” is their annual fun dog show hosted by Overton Radio’s Rob Francis.
With fair weather forecast for this afternoon, the event will be held outside in the pub garden.
Various novelty classes are open including Best Party Trick, Cutest Pup and ‘Dog Most Like Its Owner’.
“We aim that every dog wins a treat and a medal”, says Landlord David Harber. “This means Rob will have to act on his feet and invent categories as we go along”.
With music outside and an attempt to play ‘Bow Wow Bingo”, the pub opens at midday and will be serving Tapas Snacks throughout the afternoon.
The Dog Show is expected to start at 2pm. There are plenty of treats and water available for our canine friends, while well-behaved owners are welcome to make use of the bar inside.
There’s no entry fee, but customers are welcome to make a donation to the pub’s chosen charity for 2026, The Farming Community Network.
