Residents are being invited to take part in a special community parade to mark Palm Sunday later this month.
The event will begin at 10:30am on Sunday 29 March, starting outside Beech Tree Care Home. From there, participants will walk together down Winchester Street in a short parade through the village.
The procession will end at the Community Centre, where an outdoor church service will begin at 11:00am. This service will also be broadcast live on our pop-up station Overton Radio 2 from 10.50am.
Organisers say the event is open to everyone and offers a chance for people of all ages to come together and mark the start of Holy Week. Palm Sunday remembers the biblical story of Jesus entering Jerusalem, when crowds welcomed him by laying palm branches in the road.
People are encouraged to join the walk or head straight to the Community Centre for the outdoor service. The organisers hope the event will bring the community together for a simple and meaningful start to the Easter season.
