Churches in Overton have announced a series of services and events to mark Easter, with residents invited to join in moments of reflection, remembrance, and celebration across the Easter weekend.
The first service will take place on Maundy Thursday, 2 April, with Holy Communion at 7:30pm in the Church Rooms. The quiet service will offer time for reflection as the church remembers the events leading up to Easter.
On Good Friday, 3 April, a community march will begin at the Old Methodist Chapel at 10:30am. Worshippers will walk together through the village to St Mary’s Church, where a Family Service will take place at 11:00am.
The celebrations conclude on Easter Sunday, 5 April, with Holy Communion at 11:00am at St Mary’s Church. The service will mark the resurrection of Christ and is open to all who wish to attend.
Organisers say the services are a chance for the community to come together during one of the most important periods in the Christian calendar.
