Overton United have secured promotion to the Hampshire Premier League Senior Division after a tense draw against BTC Southampton at Bridge Street.
Knowing a single point would be enough to go up, United were made to work for it. The visitors took the lead after 31 minutes, putting the pressure firmly on the home side and silencing the crowd.
Overton pushed hard for a response but time looked to be slipping away. Then, with just three minutes left on the clock, Adam Hargood stepped up to deliver the moment that mattered. His 87th-minute equaliser sparked relief and celebration, as the point confirmed promotion.
The result guarantees United at least a top-two finish, capping off a strong campaign and sealing their place in the Senior Division next season.
