Overton United are now just one point away from securing promotion after a confident 3–0 victory over Headley United under the floodlights at Bridge Street.
A strong all-round performance saw goals from Macca Martin, Adam Hargood and Kieran Maylen seal all three points in front of a lively home crowd. From the first whistle, Overton looked in control, moving the ball well and creating chances with purpose.
Martin opened the scoring to settle any early nerves, before Hargood doubled the lead to put clear daylight between the sides. Maylen then wrapped things up with a third, capping off a composed and clinical display.
The result leaves Overton firmly on the brink of promotion, needing just a single point to make it official.
Attention now turns to Saturday, when BTC Southampton visit Bridge Street. With promotion within touching distance, another strong result could see Overton complete the job on home soil.
