Overton Rugby Club have made a losing start to their Counties 3 Hampshire campaign, going down 33-7 away to Isle of Wight Rugby Club in their opening fixture of the season.
Overton travelled to the Isle of Wight hoping to begin the new campaign with a positive result, but were ultimately beaten by a strong home side.
The defeat leaves Overton ninth in the Counties 3 Hampshire table after the first round of matches, with plenty of rugby still to come in what promises to be a long season.
Attention now turns to their first home fixture, as Overton look to put Saturday’s result behind them and get their campaign up and running.
They welcome Fawley to Odd Ball Lane for the next league fixture, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.
With home support behind them, Overton will be hoping for a much-improved performance and the chance to pick up their first points of the season.
