Four local runners are heading to the capital on Sunday 27 April to take part in the TCS London Marathon, each raising money for a cause that’s changed their lives—or the lives of people close to them.
Jennie Toland is running for Tommy’s, a charity that funds research into miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth.
“Tommy’s supported us through our struggles with multiple miscarriage. Through their specialist research, we were able to have our family, when we’d previously been told that this would not be possible.”

Katherine Phillips is running for Bliss, which supports babies born premature or sick, and their families.
“We want to say a massive thank you to all the amazing doctors, nurses and support staff from Bliss who helped us get through such a challenging time.”

From Overton Harriers, both Vinny Goodfield and Stuart Allen are also running.
Vinny is supporting Children with Cancer UK:
“It’s a tremendous cause, and if anyone is able to donate a few pounds, I’d be really grateful. If you see me running around Whitchurch in the next few weeks, please say hello—all encouragement is gratefully received.”

Stuart is raising money for Naomi House, who provide specialist care to children and young adults with life-limiting conditions. Donate here: justgiving.com/page/stuart-allen-3
They’re running for research. For babies. For families. For children fighting cancer. For those who can’t run themselves.
Let’s get behind them.
