Free training on offer to support Overton’s community pool

Residents in Overton are being invited to learn new skills and help keep their local pool running, thanks to a series of free training sessions in 2026.

Lordsfield Swimming Club is offering courses in first aid and pool rescue, aimed at boosting volunteer numbers and supporting the long-term future of the village pool.

The club says the sessions are a great way to meet new people, learn practical skills, and play a part in keeping swimming alive in the community.

Two first aid courses are planned for March and April, followed by three pool rescue sessions across the spring and summer.

Training dates:

First Aid

  • March 28
  • April 18

Pool Rescue

  • May 10
  • June 14
  • July 12

Organisers say no prior experience is needed, making the sessions open to anyone who wants to get involved.

The initiative comes as community-run facilities continue to rely on local support to stay open, with volunteers playing a key role in day-to-day operations.

Anyone interested in taking part is encouraged to get in touch with the club for more details via email.
