All Three Overton Cricket Sides Celebrate Saturday Victories

It was a perfect Saturday for Overton Cricket Club, with all three senior sides recording impressive victories in their league fixtures.

The club’s 1st XI produced a dominant performance away to Amport, securing a comprehensive 159-run win.

Batting first, Overton posted an imposing total of 288 all out from 44.2 overs. In reply, Amport were unable to cope with the visitors’ bowling attack and were dismissed for 129 in just 31 overs, giving Overton maximum points from the match.

There was also success for the 2nd XI, who claimed a convincing seven-wicket victory over Donnington.

After restricting the visitors to 124 all out in 38.4 overs, Overton made light work of the chase. The home side reached 127 for 3 in just 25.3 overs to seal the win and collect 24 points.

The 3rd XI completed a memorable day for the club with a 74-run victory against Odiham & Greywell’s 5th XI.

Overton posted an excellent 276 for 6 from their allotted 40 overs before producing a disciplined performance in the field. Despite a spirited reply from the visitors, who finished on 202 for 5, Overton comfortably held on for victory.

The clean sweep of wins continues a positive season for Overton Cricket Club and provides plenty of momentum as the club heads into the next round of fixtures.
