We’re excited to announce that Hampshire jazz and soul band ‘Take Three’ will be performing at Carpark Fest at the end of this month.
The popular trio features Callum (Double Bass, The Mighty Hump), Holly (Vocals) and Tom (Keyboard) and they’ll be performing a mix of jazz, soul and pop covers at the event at The Red Lion in Overton.
Double bassist Callum Baird says, “We’re excited to be able to play at The Red Lion and help raise money for Test Valley Men’s Shed.
“I’m a psychotherapist and both Tom and Holly are clinical psychology graduates so we’re really happy to be associated with anything mental health related.
“As for the music, do expect some sublime close harmonies backed by stripped back instrumentals”.
The band will be performing around 5pm, after Lani Clayton, John Bird, Jake Ward and Mya Eckett. The event’s headline act will be announced next week.
The event is a ‘mini-parody’ of Car-Fest, which this year has moved from its original home at Laverstoke Park to Silverstone. Starting at midday, visitors to the free event can expect live music entertainment, games including the pub’s Mega Meat Raffle and local traders, with food and drink from inside the pub and from genuine German sausage experts ‘Jeffrey’s Lunchbox’.
The event which continues until around 9pm will also see the return of the Human Fruit Machine, a popular activity when it made its first appearance at last year’s VE Day event at The Red Lion.
The Bank Holiday Sunday headline act will be announced on Overton Radio on Monday morning.
