Overton United have picked up their first three points of the new season with an impressive 4-0 away victory against Denmead.
United made the perfect start to the match, taking the lead after just two minutes. Dan Schofield got his name on the scoresheet to put Overton 1-0 ahead and give the visitors an early boost.
Overton continued to look dangerous and were rewarded with a second goal on the half-hour mark, when Jacob Burrows found the back of the net to double United’s advantage.
The visitors were firmly in control and added a third just five minutes later. Dan Hopkins scored in the 35th minute to give Overton a comfortable 3-0 lead going into the half-time break.
With a three-goal cushion, United continued to manage the game well after the restart and looked determined to see the job through.
The fourth goal eventually arrived in the 76th minute, with Alfie Clark completing the scoring and putting the result beyond any doubt.
The final whistle confirmed a convincing 4-0 win for Overton United, giving the side their first victory of the season after two matches.
The result sees United move to ninth place in the table as they look to build some early-season momentum.
Next Saturday brings another away fixture, with Overton United travelling to take on Liss Athletic. Kick-off is at 3pm, with United hoping to make it back-to-back victories and continue their climb up the table.
