After much confusion following the announcement that this year’s Wheelbarrow Race would not be run, Overton Radio can officially confirm that the race WILL be going ahead.
Colin Phillimore officially confirmed to this station at yesterday’s Overton Youth FC presentation day that the event will be run as planned on Friday 19th July.
The race will start at 7.30pm from Pound Road, and will take in all the village pubs and clubs where participants will have half a pint at each location. Fancy dress is strongly encouraged!
Teams must consist of a minimum of 2 people, and all participants must be 18 and over.
Entry is £15 per person (which includes 6 drinks) and there are prizes up for grabs as well!
The finish line will be at the ORC in Bridge Street, where afterwards you’re invitied to stay and enjoy the evening with music, a barbecue, and a bar serving great refreshments.
