Volunteers wanted to help bring Scarecrow Festival back to the village

Organisers of this year’s Scarecrow Festival are calling on local residents to join the volunteer team and help make the much-loved community event a success.

A range of enjoyable and practical roles are available for people who would like to be part of the team behind the festival. Volunteers are needed to help with setting up arena events, welcoming and assisting visitors, taking payments on the gate and supporting the running of the site throughout the weekend of the 18th and 19th July.

No previous experience is required and full guidance will be provided. The focus is on creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for everyone attending the festival.

Organisers say the festival relies on volunteers to run smoothly each year and are keen to hear from anyone who can spare some time to help. Whether people are able to give just a few hours or can help for longer, volunteers will be organised on a rota so that shifts can fit around other commitments.

Anyone interested in getting involved or finding out more is asked to contact Steve Williams on 07966 921584 or email stewill@icloud.com.

The Scarecrow Festival is one of the village’s most popular annual events and organisers say being part of the volunteer team is a rewarding way to support the community and help bring the weekend to life.
