The future of the local Explorers group is at risk, and the community is being called upon to help ensure its continuation. The group, which plays a vital role in the development of young people in the area, is in danger of losing its ability to meet after Easter due to a lack of support.
The Explorers program has long been a key part of the Scouting family, offering teenagers a chance to gain new skills, build friendships, and contribute to their community. However, without sufficient backing, the group may not be able to continue its valuable work, not only for the current members but also for future Scouts, Cubs, and Beavers who may aspire to join when they reach the age to become Explorers.
In an effort to address this issue and explore potential solutions, the group is hosting an informal meeting on Monday, 24th March, at 8:30 PM at The Greyhound. Anyone interested in helping or learning more about the programme is encouraged to attend.
“This is a critical moment for us,” said a spokesperson for the Explorers group. “We don’t want to lose this fantastic opportunity for our young people, and we’re hopeful that with the support of the community, we can keep the programme running. Your help could truly make all the difference.”
The meeting is open to anyone who may be interested in helping or learning more about how they can contribute to keeping the Explorers program alive for future generations.
Time is of the essence, so if you can help in any way, your involvement could ensure that young people continue to have access to the fantastic opportunities offered by the Explorers group.
