Overton Scarecrow Festival

Scarecrow Festival: Saturday in Pictures

What a way to start the Overton Scarecrow Festival!

Saturday brought sunshine, smiles, and a wonderful community atmosphere as hundreds of people headed to the Recreation Ground for the opening day of this year’s festival.

Families enjoyed a packed programme of live entertainment, explored the many stalls, sampled food and drink from local vendors, and admired the fantastic scarecrows displayed throughout the village. From children’s activities to live music, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The Grand Fete was busy throughout the afternoon, with visitors making the most of the warm weather and relaxed atmosphere. The evening continued the celebrations with Scarecrow Rocks, bringing live music and a great crowd together to round off a memorable first day.

Overton Radio was proud to be part of the day, broadcasting from the event and speaking to organisers, performers, volunteers and visitors. It was also a special day for our own Rob Francis, who took to the stage for his biggest live performance to date and received an overwhelming response from the audience.

If you couldn’t make it along, or simply want to relive the memories, take a look through our gallery below featuring some of the best moments from an unforgettable Saturday.

The festival continues today with more live entertainment, family activities, stalls, and plenty more to see and do. If day one is anything to go by, another fantastic day lies ahead for Overton.
