Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has announced that essential internal refurbishment work will soon be carried out on the public toilets located on Winchester Street.
The improvement project is expected to begin in mid-August and continue for around three weeks, with work likely wrapping up by early September. The refurbishment is part of ongoing efforts to modernise and maintain key town centre facilities.
During the works, the public toilets will be closed to the public, and visitors are advised to make alternative arrangements during this period. In addition, a small section of the London Road car park will be set aside for use by the appointed contractor, which may cause minor disruption to parking availability.
A spokesperson for Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council said: “We appreciate residents’ and visitors’ patience while we carry out these improvements. The short-term inconvenience will result in a cleaner, safer, and more modern facility for everyone.”
For further information or to ask questions about the works, the public can contact the council using their online web form or by calling 01256 844844.
