Promotion Beckons as Overton United Prepare for Pivotal Showdown

Overton United are just one win away from securing promotion to the Hampshire Premier League Senior Division — and all eyes will be on the club’s decisive fixture against Crofton Saints on Saturday 26th April.

After a strong season, the equation is simple: win this final match, and Overton take their place in the top flight of county football. The pressure is on, the stakes are sky-high, and the whole community is rallying behind the team.

To mark the occasion, Overton Radio will deliver live coverage of the big day, going on air from 2pm with a full hour of pre-match buildup, interviews, and expert commentary. Live match commentary will follow from 3pm. This commentary will be a good test for the Overton Radio team ahead of the Rotten Hill Cup on May 4th.

In a rare shake-up to the schedule, the station’s flagship music programme Grooveline will move to 5pm — allowing uninterrupted coverage of one of the biggest matches in the club’s recent history.

Club officials are expecting a strong turnout at the ground, and supporters are being urged to arrive early, bring their colours, and make their voices heard.

“This is what you play all season for,” said an Overton United fan. “The players know what’s at stake, and with the backing of our fans, we believe we can get over the line.”

Fans unable to attend in person can tune in to the live broadcast via Alexa, the MyTuner app, or online at overtonradio.com.

It all comes down to this. Kick-off is at 3pm. Victory means promotion.
