At its meeting on 22 August, the planning group of Overton Parish Council considered an application for outline planning permission for 17 houses on land at the top of Dellands Lane.
Having considered the views of a number of local residents who attended the meeting and taking into account relevant national and local planning policies, the planning group unanimously agreed to object to the application.
The application will now go forward for consideration by Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council and residents are reminded that they have until 1 September to register comments on the Basingstoke & Deane planning portal. The parish council will continue to oppose speculative development within the village and surrounding area.
