Palm Sunday Service Draws a Crowd in the Heart of Overton

Overton came together in fine form this weekend as a large and lively crowd gathered in the centre of the village to mark Palm Sunday. The service, organised by Overton Churches Together, was a real community moment – heartfelt, hopeful, and filled with spirit (both the divine kind and the neighbourly one).

Leading the service was Rev. James Russell of St. Mary’s Church, who spoke with warmth and reflection about the significance of Palm Sunday and the journey ahead through Holy Week. With hymns, prayers, and readings shared in the open air, the event brought together people of all ages – a true show of unity and faith in action.

If you missed it (or just want to soak it all in again), you can now listen to the full service on our catchup site or by clicking the link below:

Community, connection, and a little bit of sunshine – not a bad way to start Holy Week. 🌿
