Overton United hit five in New Forest as title push grows

A five-star away display has put Overton United FC firmly in control of the title race after a 5–1 win over Sway FC in the New Forest.

Goals from Adam Hargood, Cole Oates, Ryan Alexander, Leo Evans and Dan Schofield capped a sharp and confident performance from the first team, who now sit nine points clear at the top of the table.

The result continues a strong run for Overton, with the side looking settled and ruthless in front of goal as the season enters its decisive phase.

League action pauses next week, with attention turning to the cup. Overton travel to Winklebury to face Twentyten FC.

It was a tougher afternoon for the reserves, who narrowly missed out on a place in the final of the North Hampshire Cup. Overton Reserves were beaten 3–2 by Headley Reserves in the semi-final.

Sam Mosdell scored both goals for Overton in a close and spirited performance, but Headley edged the contest to book their place in the final.
