Overton Rugby Club’s Under-15s side are celebrating after a superb 24–0 victory to win the Hampshire Vase Final in a tense and physical contest.
The young Overton team delivered a strong performance from start to finish, matching their opponents’ size and power while keeping control of the game. Solid defence and confident attacking play helped them build a clear lead and secure the shut-out win.
Despite the result, the club also sent its best wishes to a player from US Portsmouth who was injured during the match. Everyone at Overton hopes for a speedy recovery.
After the final whistle, the coaching team praised the players’ effort and determination.
“The boys were brilliant. We played a big, physical side and matched them all day.”
The victory marks a proud moment for the club and caps a memorable day for players, coaches, and supporters who travelled to watch the final.
With the Hampshire Vase now heading back to Overton, it is a result the whole club can celebrate. A terrific achievement for a talented young side and a promising sign for the future of rugby at Overton.
