Overton transformed into film set for Amazon’s latest drama

Overton is swapping sleepy village life for street races and steamy romance this week, as film crews arrive to shoot a new Amazon Prime Video series based on a viral book trilogy.

Production trucks rolled into Overton Mill over the weekend, with cameras set to start rolling from June 30 to July 5. Filming will take place overnight between 7:30pm and 4:30am, with set-up and clear-up happening before and after those dates.

Local residents were sent letters from Palladium Productions, confirming that the village will play host to scenes from Your Fault, the British reimagining of Mercedes Ron’s Culpables series — a global hit that first found fame on Wattpad and BookTok.

The upcoming series follows on from My Fault: London, Amazon’s adaptation of the first book, Culpa Mía. Now, the second instalment of the story brings more of the high-drama romance and glossy teen angst fans have come to expect.

The production team reassured locals in the letter, stating:

“We look forward to bringing an exciting production to the area and are keen to make this proposed shoot as smooth as possible for all residents and local businesses. We aim to keep you aware of our plans at each stage of production.”

A second note added that disruption will be kept to a minimum — no mean feat when the plot involves illegal street racing, exclusive parties, and a fiery “enemies-to-lovers” romance. The books follow Noah Morgan, a seventeen-year-old who’s uprooted from Toronto to Los Angeles, finding herself thrown into a world of fast cars, rich kids, and forbidden love.

For Overton, this is the second time in just a few months that the film industry has come knocking. In February, scenes for a new Guy Ritchie project were filmed in the village, with rumours swirling that Tom Hardy had been spotted on set. That production — working under the title The Associate — is thought to feature Hardy alongside Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan.

As Overton adds another title to its growing showbiz résumé, locals might want to keep their autograph books handy — just in case the stars come out after dark.
