Overton School Association Gears Up for Family Fun Day

Families across Overton are being invited to enjoy an afternoon of entertainment, activities and community spirit at this year’s Overton School Association Family Fun Day.

The event will take place at Overton Primary School on Saturday, 20 June, from 12pm until 3pm, with organisers promising a packed programme of attractions for all ages.

Among the activities confirmed so far are three bouncy castles, an obstacle course, a penalty shootout, bungee trampolines, traditional games stalls, family fun races and a dance demonstration. Visitors will also be able to enjoy refreshments from an ice cream van, a candyfloss stall, and a BBQ and bar throughout the afternoon.

The Family Fun Day is one of the school’s biggest community events of the year and organisers are encouraging parents and residents to get involved by volunteering. Anyone able to spare some time is invited to sign up for one of the available roles through the Overton School Association’s events website.

The association is also looking for a volunteer to run a face painting and glitter tattoo stall during the event. Anyone interested can contact organisers via email at osahelpers@outlook.com or through the association’s social media channels.

In the run-up to the event, the school nursery is collecting donations of teddy bears, while a non-uniform day will be held on Thursday, 18 June, to gather prizes for the traditional tombola.

Adding to the entertainment, Overton Radio presenter Rob Francis will host the afternoon, helping to keep the celebrations running throughout the event.

Organisers have also thanked Rotary Basingstoke & Deane for its continued support of the Family Fun Day.

The Overton School Association hopes the event will bring together families, friends and residents for an afternoon of fun while raising valuable funds to support the school.
