The Overton Scarecrow Festival returns this year, bringing one of the village’s best-loved events back to the calendar.
The Festival Grand Fete and Family Fun Weekend will take place on Saturday and Sunday 18 and 19 July, starting from 12 noon each day. As usual, the event will be held at the Bridge Street Recreation Ground.
Visitors can expect the familiar mix of fun and colour, including live entertainment, the popular It’s a Knockout competition, plenty of children’s attractions, and a wide range of interesting stalls. There will also be food and drink available throughout the weekend.
Stall bookings are now open and can be made by emailing pitches.overtonscarecrow@gmail.com. Alison Hood and Mel Brixton are coordinating stall bookings and are working to ensure a strong and varied line-up. Interest is already high, so stallholders are encouraged to get in touch soon.
Further details about scarecrow-making workshops, due to start in February, will be announced shortly.
