Overton’s very own Jacky Lessware isn’t letting age clip her wings — in fact, she’s strapping herself to one! In an awe-inspiring bid to celebrate her 90th birthday with a difference, Jacky is taking on a high-flying wing-walk challenge to raise vital funds for the Overton Community Pool.
The sky-high stunt is scheduled to take place on Saturday 28th June in Cirencester, hosted by Go Wingwalking (https://www.gowingwalking.com). Yes, you read that right — Jacky will be climbing atop an aircraft in flight, proving once and for all that courage doesn’t come with an age limit.
All money raised will go directly to support the much-loved Overton Community Pool, which relies on fundraising to keep its doors open and its water warm. Jacky’s daring mission isn’t just about adrenaline — it’s about making a splash for a good cause.
You can sponsor Jacky’s gravity-defying feat by donating through her JustGiving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/jacky-wingwalk
For those who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground but still want to contribute, alternative donation options are available. Just get in touch with Lauren McCann via email at fundraising@overtonswim.org.uk or call 01256 242117.
From everyone in Overton — we salute you, Jacky. Best of luck up there, and have the happiest of high-flying birthdays!
