Many residents across Overton have been left without internet access since around 4pm yesterday, as ongoing electrical works by SSE continue in the High Street.
Engineers remain on site this morning as efforts continue to resolve the issue, which has affected broadband availability for a large number of homes and businesses in the village.

The disruption has also led to temporary access restrictions in the centre of the village. The route through the Community Centre forecourt has been completely sealed off while work is carried out, preventing direct access through that area. However, pedestrians can still reach the High Street by using the pathway outside the library.
Further disruption has hit local bus users, with the bus stop area outside the library also fully closed. A notice placed at the stop states it will remain unavailable until May 15.
No temporary replacement stop has been provided, meaning passengers travelling towards Whitchurch or Andover will need to use alternative stops at Berrydown, Overton Hill, Southington or Harveys Field.

Residents are being advised to allow extra time for journeys and to check internet service updates as work continues to restore normal service.
