Overton Wheelbarrow Race

Get ready for one of Overton's best-loved summer traditions!

The Overton Wheelbarrow Race starts from Pound Road at 7:30pm, with teams racing through the village, stopping at participating pubs along the way. At each pub, competitors must drink half a pint before continuing to the next stop.

The race finishes at the Overton Recreation Centre, where everyone is welcome to enjoy an evening of entertainment, great food and a fully stocked bar as the competitors cross the finish line.

One of the highlights of the evening takes place at The Red Lion, the competitors' penultimate stop before the finish. Rob Francis will be there providing live commentary as the teams arrive, bringing all the excitement of the race to spectators. There will also be live music from Batteries Not Include, making it the perfect place to soak up the atmosphere before the final dash to the Recreation Centre.
