Football Preview: Big Weekend for Overton United Sides

Overton United’s first team will be looking to extend their perfect start to the season this Saturday as they welcome Hedge End Town to Bridge Street for a 3pm kick-off.

United are the only side left in the league with a 100% record and currently sit five points clear at the top of the table, with Silchester chasing in second place. The hosts will be determined to keep their winning streak alive and strengthen their grip on pole position.

Meanwhile, Overton United Reserves are also in action on Saturday afternoon, making the trip to face Rushmoor Community FC, also with a 3pm start. The Reserves have made a solid start to the campaign, sitting third in the league after two matches, and will be aiming to build momentum away from home.

On Sunday, attention turns to the veterans, as Overton United Vets take on Wokingham Vets in the Peter Hobdell Challenge Cup at Bridge Street, with a 10.30am kick-off. The Vets are unbeaten in their league so far, having picked up a win and a draw in their opening two games, and will be eager to carry that form into cup competition.

It promises to be a busy weekend of football for United at every level – and a chance to keep the winning feeling flowing throughout the club.
