First XI beaten in local cricket derby

It was a close game, but Oakley took the spoils in the big local cricket derby.

They set Overton’s 1st XI needed 213 runs to win at Bridge Street, but the home side fell short by just 5 runs. Sam Cross, Adam Secret & Damien Smith were among the wicket takers for Overton, taking 2 wickets each.

The 2nd XI secured an impressive 94 run win away at Herriard. Overton set the hosts a tough target of 227 to win, but the hosts were all out for just 132.

At Berrydown, the 3rd XI were beaten by Ropley. Overton were all out for 186 after Ropley had set them the target of 226 to win.
