A strong field turned out for Town Meadow Golf Club’s April Kingfisher Cup, with a record 25 players braving mixed conditions to compete.
Golfers faced a testing day on the course, with wind and rain early on giving way to brighter spells later. Despite the changeable weather, the competition drew one of its biggest turnouts, reflecting growing interest in the club’s monthly events.
Chris Davis claimed top spot with an impressive 39 Stableford points, holding off a competitive field to secure the win. Richard Spooner finished runner-up on 37 points, while Alfie Stickland posted 36 points and Toby Stupples followed with a solid 35.
Organisers praised the strong turnout and competitive spirit shown throughout the day, with players adapting well to the challenging conditions.
There was further success for Richard Spooner, who alongside Dan Spooner, also enjoyed a clean sweep in the raffle and nearest-the-pin competitions.
The full leaderboard is expected to be published on the club’s website in the coming days.
