We love hearing your views on the news stories we share. Healthy debate is welcome. Strong opinions are fine. Respect matters most.
Here’s how to keep things fair, safe, and useful for everyone.
- Be respectful
Talk to people, not at them. No insults, no bullying, no personal attacks. Disagree with ideas, not individuals. - Keep it relevant
Stick to the story. If it’s about a planning issue, keep your comment on that. Side topics can derail the discussion quickly. - No hate or abuse
Do not post content that targets people because of race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or age. It will be removed. - No threats or harassment
Any comment that threatens or encourages harm will be deleted and may be reported. - Think before you post
If you would not say it face to face in a village hall, it probably does not belong here. - Check your facts
It is fine to question things, but avoid posting false claims as fact. If you are unsure, say so. - No spam or self-promotion
Please do not post repeated links, adverts, or unrelated promotions. - Privacy matters
Do not share personal details about yourself or others. That includes addresses, phone numbers, or private information. - Use clear language
Keep it readable. No need for all caps. It reads like shouting, even if it is not meant that way. - Moderation decisions are final
We may remove comments that break these rules or do not fit the tone of the site. We do not always have time to explain each decision.
