The countdown is on to the village’s inaugural Music Festival, taking place at the Community Centre from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th June—and organisers are calling on the community to lend a hand and help make it an unforgettable weekend of fun, music, and community spirit.
The three-day event, designed to promote awareness and use of the local Community Centre and village halls, promises live music, children’s entertainment, and good old-fashioned summer vibes. But behind the scenes, a team of enthusiastic volunteers is still needed to help the show go on.
“We’ve got the bands, the bouncy castle, and the bar—now we just need the brilliant people to help us pull it all off!” says John Davenport, who is coordinating the callout.
Volunteer Roles Needed:
- Setting up and dismantling the performance area each day
- Toilet and litter checks to keep things clean and welcoming
- Bar staff (must be over 18)
- Supervisors for the bouncy castle and soft play
- Help with coordinating music acts
- General event stewards (briefing provided)
Stewards are especially needed on Friday and Sunday, as Saturday will be supported by the fantastic efforts of the local Rotary Club.
Festival Timings (Volunteer Shifts in 2-Hour Blocks):
- Friday 6th June – 6:00pm to 10:00pm (set-up from 5:30pm, clear-up until 10:30pm)
- Saturday 7th June – 1:00pm to 10:00pm (set-up from 12:30pm, clear-up until 10:30pm)
- Sunday 8th June – 1:00pm to 6:00pm (set-up from 12:30pm, clear-up until 6:30pm)
Shifts will be managed flexibly to fit around people’s availability—whether you’ve got two hours or can stay the whole day, your help will be hugely appreciated.
