Another Duck Killed on Bridge Street as Calls Grow for Drivers to Slow Down

Overton residents are once again urging drivers to respect speed limits and road signs after another duck was killed on Bridge Street yesterday morning. The accident left a mess that had to be cleared up by local residents, highlighting ongoing concerns about speeding and unnecessary traffic on the road.

Eyewitness reports suggest that the vehicle responsible left skid marks stretching approximately 20 feet, indicating excessive speed. With ducks currently in their mating season, they are more likely to be on the road, making it all the more important for motorists to drive cautiously.

“PLEASE SLOW DOWN!!!” was the plea from one local resident. “And if you have no reason to be driving on Bridge Street, DON’T! The ‘Access Only’ signs are there for a reason.”

Bridge Street has long been a hotspot for duck crossings, and previous incidents have sparked similar concerns. The community is now renewing its call for greater awareness and adherence to traffic regulations to prevent further harm to the local wildlife.

Residents are encouraging drivers to take extra care when navigating Bridge Street. The message is clear: slow down, respect the road signs, and help keep Overton’s beloved ducks safe.
