Overton Harvest Festival celebration

St Mary’s are hosting a Harvest Celebration this Sunday (24th September 2023).

The event starts with a service at St Mary’s Church at 10.30am and continues from 12:00pm at the Community Orchard on London Road.

Organisers say there’s a bug hunt, apple bobbing and craft activities as well as an orchard fruits cooking competition.

The celebration is ahead of the Harvest Festival which is traditionally celebrated on the Sunday nearest the harvest moon. (The full Moon that occurs closest to the autumn equinox). This marks the traditional start of the autumn season.

The exact date of the Harvest Festival in the UK this year is the 1st of October.

The Harvest Celebration event is organised with Sustainable Overton. The Harvest Celebration is free to attend.
