After several months of planning, designing and plenty of behind-the-scenes work, the new Overton Radio website is now ready to welcome visitors.
The new site has been built from scratch, rather than simply updating the existing website, giving Overton Radio the opportunity to rethink how everything works and create a platform designed specifically around the needs of the station and its listeners.
Visitors can now find the latest local news, station information, show details, presenter information and everything happening across Overton Radio, all in one place.
One of the biggest priorities during the rebuild was speed. The new website has been designed to be considerably lighter and less cluttered, meaning pages should load faster and visitors can get to the information they want without having to wade through unnecessary features.
The new website also provides the foundations for a whole range of new features that will be introduced over the coming months.
Overton Radio Station Manager Rob Francis said the decision to completely rebuild the website was about creating something that could grow alongside the station.
“The old website had served us well, but after three years it had become far too bloated and complicated. I wanted to start again and build something that was fast, simple and actually worked for Overton Radio and the community we serve.
“It has taken a lot of work, but I’m incredibly pleased with how it has turned out. There are still a few little things being fine-tuned, but this is a completely new platform and gives us so much more scope for the future.”
The new website also forms part of a wider digital refresh for Overton Radio, with new ways for listeners to get in touch, interact with the station and keep up with what is happening both on and off air.
And, of course, you can still listen to Overton Radio live online, wherever you are.
