The Andover-based five-piece band plays an upbeat mix of funk, soul, disco and pop classics, spanning 7 decades of music.
The energetic band could probably now claim around 1000 shows since they were formed 18 years ago in Andover. Today they play all over the UK, most recently Bath, Basingstoke (Duel) and various locations across the south coast.
“Expect some hi-energy, well-known songs from Michael Jackson and Maroon 5 to Stevie Wonder and The Bee Gees”.
The event starts at midday and also features local acts Lani Clayton, John Bird, and Mya as well as jazzy trio Take Three and popular singer-entertainer Jake Ward.
Funkline with Guy (Lead Vocals), James (Guitar & Backing Vocals), Simon (Bass & Backing Vocals), Tom (Keys, Sax & Backing Vocals) and Luke (Drums) are scheduled for a 7.00/7.30pm start.
The event also features local traders such as Gaynor Francis from The Village Refillery (former Renasci Designs), Sarah Ross’s Vita Nova handmade jewellery and The Haven - a calm, wellbeing space for younger visitors run by qualified teacher and SEND/SEMH specialist Michelle Green.
Two spaces remain for anyone wishing to claim their free pitch on the day.
There will be plenty of activities throughout the day, held together by the presentation team at Overton Radio, including a Chilli Challenge, an expanded version of The Red Lion’s weekly meat raffle ‘Meats & Beats’ and the dulcet tones of event host Rob Francis who will also engage the crowds with his prize-winning bingo session.
Chili Master Chris Cloke, a former winner of the ‘Come Dine With Me’ TV show will host the event’s Chilli Challenge and says, “I can’t wait. This is going to be a really great event”.
