Vandalism in Overton: Police Investigate Window Damage Incident

Residents of Overton are being urged to stay vigilant following a disturbing act of vandalism that occurred on Saturday evening opposite the White Hart. A living room window was deliberately damaged in what appears to be a targeted attack, with a ball bearing found embedded in the glass.

The incident, which was reported to the police, has prompted an immediate investigation. Officers are now collecting CCTV footage from the surrounding area and have confirmed that forensic teams will be conducting fingerprint analysis at the scene. The ball bearing will also be sent off for further examination as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the attack, but the consequences could have been far worse. It remains unclear whether this was an act of reckless behaviour by youths or an incident involving intoxicated individuals. Regardless of the motive, the community is alarmed by the rising number of criminal incidents in the area.

One concerned resident expressed their frustration, stating, “The amount of crime in Overton recently is extremely concerning. People need to be aware and take precautions.”
