The Herald of Herod – A Christmas Pan-tivity Brings Festive Fun to Overton

St Mary’s Church in Overton is set to sparkle this Christmas with a festive treat for all ages — The Herald of Herod: A Christmas Pan-tivity, presented by the brilliant 4Front Theatre.

Blending the magic of the Nativity story with the laughter and mischief of a classic pantomime, this lively production promises an hour of songs, silliness, and plenty of opportunities to cheer the heroes – and, of course, boo the baddie!

The story follows Harry, a humble herald with big dreams of being noticed by the King. When three rather peculiar Magi arrive at Herod’s palace talking about the birth of a rival King, Harry is swept into an epic quest that could change his life — and history — forever.

Performances take place at St Mary’s Church, Overton (Church Road, RG25 3HF) on Thursday 11th December with two showings — 4:00pm and 6:30pm — making it perfect for families looking for some after-school festive fun.

The show lasts around an hour, is suitable for all ages, and comes with free parking for added convenience.

Presented by 4Front Theatre in partnership with St Mary’s Church and the Overton community, this joyful production promises laughter, warmth, and a good dose of Christmas spirit.

Admission is free, but advance booking is essential to ensure everyone in your group gets a seat.

So gather your family, warm up those vocal cords, and get ready to shout “He’s behind you!” this December — because The Herald of Herod is coming to town!
